As part of the 5th Anniversary Kensington Juneteenth Celebration, we are proud to present Echoes of Freedom, a powerful art exhibition that explores the enduring legacy of freedom, resilience, identity, and remembrance through visual storytelling.

Featuring the work of acclaimed artist Dinah Myers Schroeder (@anotherdinahmytecreation), this exhibition invites visitors to reflect on the journeys, struggles, triumphs, and voices that continue to shape the African American experience. Through compelling imagery and thought-provoking artistic expression, Echoes of Freedom challenges us to examine our shared history while envisioning a more just and inclusive future.

The exhibition aligns with Kensington Juneteenth's 2026 theme:

Acknowledging the Past & Charting Our Future

Visitors will have the opportunity to experience artwork that honors the stories of those whose courage and perseverance helped pave the way toward freedom and equality. Each piece serves as a reminder that the echoes of the past continue to resonate in our communities today.

About the Artist

Dinah Myers Schroeder is a multidisciplinary artist whose work explores themes of history, identity, culture, and social justice. Through layered imagery and evocative compositions, her art encourages viewers to engage with stories that are often overlooked while celebrating the resilience and humanity of those who lived them.
